The site itself runs on an Ubuntu 14.04 virtual machine with 512 MB of RAM, a single-core processor, and a 20 GB SSD hosted by Digital Ocean in San Francisco. Apache, PHP, MySQL, and MediaWiki—which runs Wikipedia—are the main software pieces.
